Background<\/strong>

IRID (Indonesia Research Institute for Decarbonization) is an Indonesia-based think tank focusing on policy analysis and policy advocacy to support decarbonization and resilience society. As an open and neutral organization, IRID supports gender equity, having two out of four its co-founders are women. IRID will employ and treat people based on their capabilities that suites to the need of the organization, not based on their gender, ethnicity, nor religion.

Established on 13 December 2020 in Jakarta, Indonesia, IRID was founded with a strong vision to continuously promote decarbonized and climate resilient development, not only in Indonesia, but also at the global level. IRID works in the areas of, but not limited to, climate policy and negotiation, carbon market, renewable energy policy and development, climate finance as well as environment and climate law. IRID also aims to not only raise awareness but also to build capacity of relevant stakeholders to enable them to actively contribute in the effort to achieve decarbonized and climate resilient societies.

IRID has been working on the issue of Climate Diplomacy in the context of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) since IRID first established. Along with time, IRID expands its diplomacy work not only on Climate Change, but also on Energy in various avenues aside from UNFCCC, including G20 and ASEAN. In the context of UNFCCC, IRID has been working on issues related to, amongst others, Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, Mitigation, Adaptation, Loss and Damage, Climate Finance, Response Measures, as well as Gender, which are important to achieve the objective of the Paris Agreement.
Realizing the importance of the above issues, IRID is currently opening several internship opportunities, with the following tasks and requirements.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope of Work<\/strong>

The interns will be working as a part of IRID\u2019s Policy Advocacy Department, under the supervision of Policy Advocacy Director, to undertake the following tasks:

\u2022 Studying documents and decisions related to climate issues including those from UN-FCCC, particularly those related to COP29 and towards COP30;
\u2022 Summarizing outcomes of UNFCCC sessions, not limited to Global Stocktake, Cli-mate Finance, Global Goal on Adaptation, Loss and Damage, Just Transition Work Program, Gender, Mitigation Work Programme, Enhance Transparency Network, Technology Transfer, Capacity Building, and Mission 1,5\u00b0C;
\u2022 Contribute to the development of COP30 guides for each issue;
\u2022 Collaborating with IRID\u2019s Research Department as necessary;
\u2022 Contributing to the research and development of communication materials, as necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection Criteria<\/strong>

\u2022 Minimum Bachelor degree from any background, however, having legal studies as abackground, will be an advantage;
\u2022 Eager to learn on issues related to climate change, energy, and finance, in the context of Climate Diplomacy, particularly under UNFCCC;
\u2022 Experience in working with administrative and organizing events, including developing terms of reference;
\u2022 Ability to do data collection, will be an advantage;
\u2022 Capacity to work simultaneously on a variety of issues and tasks independently, adjusting to priorities and achieving results with agreed objectives and deadlines.
\u2022 Demonstrated ability to function as a team player in a multicultural team, within and across teams, deliver on complex and sometimes parallel tasks on very tight deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internship Period<\/strong>

The internship program will be held in 6 months, commencing on June 2025<\/strong> and concluding on December 2025<\/strong>, focusing on the following subjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Global Stocktake and Gender;
\u2022 Article 13 of the Paris Agreement, including Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF);
\u2022 Climate Finance;
\u2022 Response Measures, Just Transition Work Programme, and Mitigation Work Programme;
\u2022 Technology Transfer and Capacity Building;
\u2022 Adaptation and Loss and Damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
